Industrial movers Transpico and Indumove under one umbrella

Transpico, the Belgian market leader in industrial moving and handling, and Indumove ( link website Indumove ), the Dutch trendsetter in this sector, are combining forces. They want to reinforce their position on both national and international markets. Both company names will be retained, together they become Transpico Indumove International.

Transpico, located just south of Antwerp in Niel, took an important step in its geographic expansion when it purchased a participation in TMB Industry (Luxemburg) in 2013. The merger with Indumove, based in Moerdijk, creates a group with unique offering in the Benelux. With skilled employees and specialised equipment in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, the group can now offer its services inin industrial moving and handling, installing, relocating, assembling and disassembling machines and production lines even more efficiently in the Benelux and the international market. (Map)

The global group employs about 60 people and realised a turnover of approximately 15 million euros in 2015. Both companies are equally strong when it comes to specialised equipment, quality standards and expertise. In the specialised world of industrial moving and handling, one plus one is more than two in this case. The two companies complement each other exceptionally well. By working together intensively, Transpico Indumove International is even better positioned to further develop certain niche markets and to respond to customers' requests faster and more flexibly.

In addition to bringing together a large group of experts with years of experience, Transpico Indumove International also has an impressive range of specialised equipment. This includes about 30 electric fork-lift trucks between 2.5 and 12 tons, 11 pick and carry cranes with a hoisting capacity of 4.5 to 90 tons, hydraulic gantry cranes up to 200 tons, a fleet of crane trucks, telescopic cranes and tractor/low-loader combinations.

No challenge or industrial move will be impossible for Transpico Indumove International from now on.

Transpico is installing a huge window for the reef aquarium at the Antwerp Zoo

Transpico is installing a huge window for the reef aquarium at the Antwerp Zoo

On Wednesday 6 August 2014, Transpico again pulled off an admirable feat in the Antwerp Zoo. A curved glass wall of 8 m x 4.13 m, and 5.3 tons heavy had to be installed on site for the new reef aquarium. When installing this huge window, there was only about a 2 cm clearance above and below. The link below to a time-lapse video gives a good view of this operation.

Our operation was also discussed extensively on TV in a programme "De Zoo achter de schermen"

The Transpico Group obtains strategic participation in TMB Industry in Luxembourg

The Transpico Group acquires à 50% stake in TMB Industry Sàrl in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (www.tmb-industry.com).  With thorough knowledge and a large arsenal of specialized equipment, TMB Industry has built up in recent years a strong reputation in machine handling, assembly and disassembly work and industrial relocations.  The synergy and cooperation opportunities between the two companies are enormous considering their geographical location and mutually complementing material and knowledge.  This strategic participation is an important new step for Transpico in our further development and international impact.

New electric 12-ton forklift truck

New electric 12-ton forklift truck

Transpico continues to invest in specific material.  To that end, we took delivery of our new electric forklift truck with a hoisting capacity of 12 tons and hoisting height of 5 metres at the beginning of August.  This Raniero AC120 combines relatively compact dimensions with a high hoisting capacity making it extremely suitable to handle heavy loads in environments where combustion engines cannot be used.

VCA annual audit

Our security system was tested again during the VCA annual audit and approved by AIB Vincotte.  Our certificate can be downloaded here (VCA certificate).

Forklift truck with low clearance

Sometimes physical properties of buildings or installations limit the free height.   In order to still move loads freely in such situations Transpico bought a Raniero RH60 electric forklift truck.  This machine has a hoisting capacity of 6 tons and a height clearance of only 220 cm.  This allows it to be used in lower spaces or to load or unload machines in containers.

Transpico pushes back frontiers

At the beginning of July we wound up the reassembling of a complete press line in Tianjin, China. Our task consisted of disassembling the line at Aleris in Duffel – the relocation to China and the complete reassembling of the line on site. Because this was the first time we carried out works of such magnitude with our own staff in China, it was also for us a figurative shifting of our borders.

Acquisition of Verdonck Transport

Acquisition of Verdonck Transport

On 1 July Transpico took over the activities of Verdonck Transport. As a family business Verdonck Transport built up a strong reputation over the past 50 years in the Sint-Niklaas area through its customer-focused approach and expert know-how. When the directors of Verdonck Transport took the decision at the beginning of 2012 to look for a partner to further develop their activities it soon became clear that both in terms of activities and commercial approach the complementarity with Transpico was very great and presented advantages to both parties.

New traction robots

New traction robots

Transpico recently acquired two new traction robots with a 10-ton and 40-ton capacity respectively. With these traction machines it is possible to meticulously move and position heavy machinery in tight spaces. (video)

VCA certificate renewed

During the three-yearly certification audit by AIB Vincotte our existing safety system was given a thorough grilling. It was good to hear that our system met all requirements and the comment by the auditor during the yard inspections was appreciated even more: “I notice that the staff on the floor have the system at their fingertips and also act accordingly…” For us this is proof that through years of sustained effort a safety awareness has been created in our employees.

New Ormig 16-ton crane

New Ormig 16-ton crane

Transpico invests in a third electric Pick & Carry crane. Besides our 9-ton and 33-ton cranes, we now also have a 16-ton version. These cranes are ideal for lifting loads in industrial buildings and to move or lift them to the required height while in motion.
